Achieving internet marketing success may seem like a complicated and difficult task for some, but it is not as difficult and complicated as it may seem. So why do so many online marketers fail and struggle to build their online business? It’s because the are not educated on the fundamentals of running an online business, which I wrote about in a recent post.

In that post I mentioned about having the proper skillset, tools and resources to build your business. Any professional in any profession needs the proper skills, tools and resources in order to get the Job done.

Take for instance a carpenter, some of his basic tools are having hammers, screwdrivers, nails, bolts, screws etc. The Home Depot is his resource, this is where he gets all his constructional materials (lumber), tools and anything he requires to accomplish his given task, and we all should know what a carpenters skillset should be. The ability to work with wood to construct buildings, furniture among other things.

So imagine someone calling themselves a carpenter, they took a job to build a house, they have no tools, no material, no resources to get them and they are not very skilled because they haven’t had much learning experience doing carpentry. How will they get the Job done? I am sure they will have no success being a carpenter, they will get fired because they can’t get the job done and no one is going to want their service.

For them to have success they have to go find a resource where they can get all the necessary tools and material they need and also find someone who they can learn from to develop their carpentry skills. Only then will they become a successful carpenter and the time it takes depends on how well they learn and apply what their teacher is teaching them.

Now take for instance a network marketer trying to have internet marketing success, they just took on the huge task of building a business on the internet. They joined ABC Company, but they have no tools, no resources and little or no training (skillset) on how to build a network marketing business online. Just like the carpenter, the network marketer needs to have certain skills, tools, and resources to achieve internet marketing success.

They must have the marketing skills to generate traffic, the tools to generate leads for their internet business (a marketing system), resources to get the necessary tools to accomplished certain task and a mentor (Coach) to learn from and develop their skills. Internet marketing success does not have to be difficult and complicated, you just have to have all the proper tools, get educated on how to do it and do it right in order to achieve success.

So when these new distributors go out into the marketing world with no marketing skills whatsoever and after months of wasting money and time trying to SELL there business (like how they where taught) with no results, all that hyped up emotion is gone and all they are left with are feelings of rejection, no direction and a few pissed off friends and family members to go along.

Most will quit and say this industry is filled with scams and pyramid schemes and doesn’t work while others will go out and find mentors to learn and develop the skills they need to be successful. This is why your drive to be successful needs to go much further than making a quick buck, because if you don’t see the results immediately you will just end up quitting.

Success in any network marketing home based business starts with your mindset, how badly do you want it and how far you are willing to go to achieve it. Yes there will be obstacles to overcome, yes there will be times when you feel like nothing seems to work, but it is your drive to remain consistent and focus on educating and developing yourself will determine your success.

This is where everybody seems to be headed and saying these days, that they are taking their talents to South Beach Miami Florida. Ever since Lebron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh decided to join forces and embark on a championship winning journey playing for the Miami Heats, a lot of NBA basketball players, some active and some inactive seem to want to itch a ride on the Miami Express, take significant pay cuts just to play with these 3 guys or sit on the bench with the high expectations of a NBA Championship.

Ok, so what does this have to do with network marketing? Lets see… Lebron James was the leader of the on the Cleveland Cavaliers, Chris Bosh the leader on the Toronto Raptors and Dwayne Wade the leader of the Miami Heats. All these guys hold a certain amount of value greater than the rest of the players on their respective teams. They have worked and developed their personal skill level to a height where they are now NBA superstars and have the fan base, endorsements and superior pay checks to back it up.

So because they individually hold such great value, and now that value has been significantly increased because they have chosen to play on the same team, they are attracting a ton a players who are even willing to play for less money than what they would be guaranteed if they went and played on some other team, just on the dream of winning a NBA Championship or a few.

Lets flip the script now on what this has to do with network marketing, your prospects are like those NBA players wanting to join James, Wade and Bosh on the Miami Heat. You have to hold greater value than your prospects, If not, you will have a difficult time finding people who are willing to join and work with you in business. People are attracted to leaders and as Mike Dillard said in Magnetic Sponsoring it is not by choice but a biological response. Your prospects will only join people whom they think can lead them to success.

Selling a business won’t attract people to you, but develop your marketing skills like how Lebron, Dwayne and Chris developed their basketball skills. Increase your value to others and see how people will start to flock to you just because you hold greater value than they do. This is done with your auto-responder through a series of follow-up messages sent out daily or periodically when someone puts their contact information in your website. Sending them valuable information about your products or services building a relationship with them. If you didn’t know where the real money is made online, it’s in the follow-up. People will almost never buy on the first visit to your website, so the ability to keep in contact with them is of the utmost importance. See why sending traffic directly to your replicated websites is of no use.

3. Monetize Your List
Once you have built up a relationship with your list of interested customers, you can practically sell them any of your products or services. Why?… because you have built trust and credibility, people buy from whom they trust,that is the power in step 2, it all comes down to the relationship you have with your customer base.

Building a business is not as complicated as it may seem, you only need to have the right tools in place and having the fundamentals down.
